It’s been a minute, but Vinylettes is back with a brand new Q&A featuring best friends turned music bloggers/bakers, Audrey and Mia of Sound Eaters.
How did you get into record collecting?
Even before we met each other, we made mix tapes and collected CDs, collecting vinyl felt like the natural evolution.
What is it about vinyl that you love most?
The beauty of the object, we’re very attached to music on a physical format. And the fact you can’t skip songs, you listen to a record in its entirety, the way it was meant by the artist.
Tell us more about Sound Eaters…
We met on a line queuing up for a gig and we realised we shared the same passions: music and baking! We became bffs, we started the blog, then this [Instagram] account and now we have a YouTube series where we interview artists and share some cake.
Which album cover was the most fun to recreate in cake?
Placebo – Without You I’m Nothing!
What’s the most prized record in your collection?
We have absolutely no clue! It’s not something we keep track of. But we have a few exclusive vault packages by Third Man Records, these boxsets are stunning, their love for craftsmanship is unmatched.
What’s your go-to crate digging spot?
In Bordeaux, our hometown, we love Total Heaven. And when in London we cannot skip Rough Trade and Third Man Records!
